The origins of Knots Apparel are in the sea, where we spent hours surfing and talking about starting a business that would make a difference. One of our favorite things about surfing is its history, and the mid-20th century wool plaids that became popular in the California surf culture have become staples of our wardrobe today. 

The Avalon is named after one of our favorite surfbreaks in New Jersey, and incorporates our signature heads-tails design. The pattern is perfectly retro, and its soft texture and substantial weight reminds us of how important the Joseph Fund's homeless shelters are during the cold winter months.
