The Oscar Romero

The Oscar Romero

Oscar Romero was born in El Salvador to a humble farming family and pursued his life as a priest against the will of his father. He became extremely active in the diocese of San Miguel before being named Archbishop of Santiago de Maria. Oscar Romero was ultimately martyred, while saying mass by death squads because of his unceasing message to care for the poor and seek social justice in the world. Oscar Romero’s spirit has inspired the Romero Center to enact on a mission of social justice throughout the city of Camden. This design is inspired by Oscar Romero’s message of humility and simplicity.

The Oscar Romero features a subtle cable knit through a humble brown cotton tie. It’s humility is inspired by its namesake, but is highlighted by a light blue tipping to remind us of how unique Romero truly was.
