The Father Bob

When Father Robert McDermott arrived in Camden in 1985, the streets were littered with vacant houses and drugs were becoming prevalent. Since then he has worked with the growing immigrant community to rehabilitate 1,000 residential housing units and helped families work hard to earn their homes. The philosophy of hand up, not hand out is prevalent in his work. He has also spearheaded initiatives of Youth Outreach, established the Romero Center Ministries and has created a home for homeless in Joseph’s House. The thinner white stripes on this tie represent the Parish of St. Joseph’s and its ability to unite a community and in this case an entire city to work for the common good.

The Father Bob features a forest green color that honors Father Bob’s Irish heritage and recalls PJ’s affinity for Notre Dame.
